Drop Down Longboards: Smooth Riding at High Speeds

The purpose of a drop down longboard is to bring the rider closer to the pavement, providing a lower center of gravity and greater stability. This design helps to smooth out the ride at faster speeds and mitigate the occurrence of speed wobbles that can be problematic on top-mount boards.

Included in this offering is a 9.75" x 41.25" natural deck, 181mm reverse kingpin silver trucks, 70mm x 45mm Pathfinder wheels, ABEC 7 speed bearings, and black griptape. The unique shape of this longboard features a lower middle section than the truck-mounted areas, allowing the trucks to be positioned higher than the standing platform for enhanced stability at high speeds.

The 181mm downhill trucks are constructed with a strong, lightweight aluminum alloy from hanger to baseplate. With a 50-degree angle, these trucks provide the optimal balance of responsiveness and stability. They come equipped with cast polyurethane bushings.

The Bigfoot Pathfinder wheels measure 70mm x 45mm with a 39mm contact patch. Poured using the latest 80a SHR formula, they feature a stone-ground contact patch, a center-set clear hub, and acute-angled lips. These wheels have been designed by our R&D team specifically for freeriding and sliding.

The bearings in this longboard feature steel balls running in deep-groove raceways, retained by a self-lubricating Delrin crown. A low-viscosity synthetic oil has been added to ensure smooth, low-friction performance.

The hardware used in this setup is made of high-grade steel with reduced, rounded heads and countersinking to minimize board stress. The non-threaded shoulder portion inside the wood and truck holes ensures a snug fit and reduced vibration, helping to prevent nut loosening and extend the lifespan of the bolts and board.

The 80-grit black griptape provides the ideal level of support and traction for the rider.
